Effective 2/1/04
In recent years, the
standard of care for our patients in emergency and critical situations has risen
dramatically. Technological advances and increased specialization within the
veterinary profession have led to the development of many high quality emergency
hospitals in our area.
We at Ashland Animal Hospital wish to make this level of emergency care our
standard, as it has rapidly become the standard across the country. During
normal business hours, we will be available for emergency care as we have always
been. However, we will no longer be available during after-hours. When our
hospital is closed, please call one of the excellent emergency hospitals that
are open and fully staffed throughout the hours when we are not here.
This will ensure that our patients are receiving the care they need at all
times.
We
recognize that high quality emergency service is a critical component of your
pet’s overall health care, and we want to make sure that our patients receive
the best care available. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the
location and policies of the 24-hour veterinary hospitals closest to you. In the
event of an emergency it is helpful to have this basic information and to
contact them as soon as you feel your pet is experiencing a problem. In some
cases, a veterinarian or technician may be able to help you over the phone
before deciding if an emergency visit is necessary.

emergency and critical care hospitals in our region.
