Dr. Held grew up locally in the suburbs of Boston with roots in Middlesex County. He received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Maryland (College Park) and then earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. His clinical interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and implementing a 'Fear Free' approach to patient care. He also loves working with owners to promote the health care and well-being of their pets, and he is dedicated to fostering a meaningful veterinary-client-patient relationship.
Previously he has worked as a general practitioner in southern Massachusetts but has come to join the Ashland Animal Hospital team to work closer to his family in central Massachusetts. Outside of work Dr. Held enjoys gardening, playing basketball, hiking, and spending time with his family.
